The British international Business Network in Toulouse (known as BiBNT) is a non-profit association developed to provide local networking opportunities between French- and English-speaking businesses in the region.

The challenge:

Attract new members and retain existing members by improving the ‘value of membership’ cost-effectively and without increasing work for the association’s volunteer committee.

The solution:

A modern, attractive community website using WordPress’ content management system, regular updates and member profiles – and a social networking presence.

The results:

The new website, including a low monthly service fee, was produced for  40% less than budget.

Since launch at the end of May 2010, the site has seen an average of 500 visitors per month – nearly half of which are new visitors.

The site is generating regular enquiries and new membership is up 10% .

The community is starting to talk and using the site to communicate and share.

Social networks are growing and continue to drive visitors to the site.

The yearly membership fee now provides real value. Member companies are benefitting from their presence on the site – Google search results for member company names often return BiBNT site listings that are ranked higher than the member’s websites.

News and information can be easily shared and members are encouraged to submit information regularly to boost their promotions and overall presence online.

Income from ‘Sponsors’ goes towards the running cost of the site.
